Presence / Basic Goodness

A couple false starts... seems there are many esoteric / outlandish things that could be said about this point, and also some very ordinary things as well.  For today, I guess it's a notion that we're all familiar with and that artists are particularly fond of -- seeing beauty in the ugly, in a gutter or an ashtray as well as in a clear fall day.  There are huge tragedies and incredible struggles in our lives (and moments of incredible fatigue as well), and these same things are part of the story of basic goodness.  

For me, the trick is not to turn away in search of some other kind of goodness.  It can be so enlivening to listen for a while.
