The Heart Sutra (2)

The idea that all beings are empty of self means that they do not have any inherent self existence. As Red Pine says:

"...nothing exists by itself. Any given entity can only be defined in terms of other entities in time, space, or mind....the absence of the erroneous distinctions that divide one entity from another, one being from another being, one thought from another thought. Emptiness is not nothing, it's everything, everything at once."
