Gaya Ethaniel: We could go back to 'dream' in Lojong or a variation of it?
Gaya Ethaniel: Life as dream or as Zen suggested all dharmas are dream.
Gaya Ethaniel: Or any reports related to dreams :)
Mitsu Ishii: we do dreams, and talk about dreams, but also perhaps we can think about the lojong phrase "Renew your commitment when you get up and before you go to sleep."

    Hmm...

'All dharmas are dreams' is a *view* in the sense that it points to a way of approach recognizing the groundless nature of even the 'idea' or 'teachings' of groundless nature? Even holding/noticing view seems to be a 'practice' of preparation to let go of attachment to view as something unquestioned, moment to moment.

This week, I dreamed of rest, and felt the rest as though I'd never rested before and just didn't know that. A few nights ago I saw a black lake or fabric of some sort, with "sea stars" shimmering from it. Last night I settled into it as though letting someone pull a blanket over and completely letting go.

Rest, can be the 'starting' place of practice, and renewing commitment can be framed by entering into rest, first, engaging everything activity, 'from' there.

-With regard to Renewing Commitment, I've begun to set an alarm to ring an hour earlier than usual, in order to wake into quiet and linger, rather than waking up at the same time others are scrambling/busy getting their days going. I tell myself that it will be nice to use that time to 'sit' eventually, but for now it seems enough to let my body adjust and to notice the 'new' moments, to consider dreaming, and to enter into the day restfully in the sense mentioned above.

As a balance, I try to take small naps. :)
