I am looking forward to reading others' reports on 'don't go for the throat'/'don't strike at the heart'.
I've always had difficulty with directness with people when drawing lines, which has caused quite a bit of 'trouble'. When one is avoiding conflicts they're bound to express dissatisfaction or what is more 'true', some other way.
They're also likely, by the time it comes to a point, to be rash or harsh because the intensity it takes to just work up saying what needs to be said, and get through the tough 'ripping off the band-aid' type moment, can be out of proportion to what was actually required.
So far this week I'm noticing how much kindness and wisdom for others, depends on our being kind and wise for ourselves...
