Abandon all hopes of results
'Hope' as in general well-wishing is ok but 'hoping for something' can be tricky. With particular results in mind, I stop being open/accepting, looking fixatedly on the narrow path from here to there. Oh, the heartbreak when things don't turned out as hoped! And thinking about outcomes often takes mind away from present. Once I indulge in such thinking, the reactive mind becomes quite pronounced in general. For me, this is one of the most problematic cases. Better to stay round and somewhat bland in the thinking department :)
Train wholeheartedly
Best if such commitment comes naturally out of seeing the effects for oneself. I think practice has to be enjoyable. No need to push and feel like little butter scraped over too much bread ...
